The problem isn't the tool itself but what it's used for. The use of the tool, the idea behind it and the intention behind its purchase and use is what matters, no?
Used to want a cho ku rei necklace with all the chakra colours incorporated desperately. Was too broke to buy it, but still, the incentive behind the purchase would not have been nefarious. It's a symbol of protection.

It is interesting that every time my current father would buy me a watch, regardless of what kind, it would stop working within a couple of weeks. Even when fixing them or getting new batteries, the fix would still last only a couple of weeks.
