Is there any way we can stop the constant music repetition in our heads... Really is quite annoying to have a blessed dj in the roof top. Savile? Thanks to all
Draco introduced the lot-chosen Council of Four Hundred, distinct from the Areopagus, which evolved in later constitutions to play a large role in Athenian democracy. Aristotle notes that Draco, while having the laws written, merely legislated for an existing unwritten Athenian constitution such as setting exact qualifications for eligibility for office.
Draco extended the franchise to all free men who could furnish themselves with a set of military equipment. They elected the Council of Four Hundred from among their number; nine archons.
Archon is a Greek word that means "ruler" or "lord," frequently used as the title of a specific public office. As civic and religious leaders, Archons were responsible for organizing theatrical performances during festivals through playwrights and choregai (wealthy citizen patrons).
In Athens a republican system of nine concurrent Archons evolved, led by three respective remits over the civic, military, and religious affairs of the state.
Under the Athenian constitution, Archons were also in charge of organizing festivals by bringing together poets, playwrights, actors, and city-appointed choregai (wealthy citizen patrons). The Archon would begin this process months in advance of a festival by selecting a chorus of three playwrights based on descriptions of the projected plays. Each playwright would be assigned a choregos, also selected by the Archon, from among the wealthy citizens who would pay all the expenses of costumes, masks, and training the chorus.
Does it happen during meditation? What I personally do is focus on breathing.
So if the piece in my head is in 3/4 (a waltz or whatever) then I breath in 4/4 in a different tempo and focus on that.
If that doesn't work then I hum a long note not in the key of the piece along with the breaths.
So maybe I have Chopin's A minor Grand Waltz stuck in my head. I focus on breathing in 4/4 and hum a loud Eb (not in the key, obviously) on 1 every time I inhale.
In Canada, "reasonable force as discipline" is allowed but most corporal punishment is outlawed.
Once witnessed a very hyper little girl at the grocery store where I now occasionally work (yay for working two jobs and being a full-time student!) pushing buttons everywhere. Her mother was patient but her grandmother, an aggressive beast of a woman, came very close to pushing the little girl on the ground and bitch-slapping the hell out of the chilld. This child was maybe six or seven, seven tops. The mother immediately intervened and told the grandmother off angrily, it was quite a sight. Horrible.
I've seen the little girl again, she seems positively terrified of the grandmother.

Don't hum random notes in public or say them out loud like I have.
EVERYONE THE TRAIN'S TRACKS BUZZ ON A B.
You get funny looks on the bus and even a whole row of seats to yourself. You'd think it'd be common sense too, right? NOT!
Ever been spanked as a kid?

First reaction was "what? Is? That?"
Nothing like a master hitting you with his Zen stick!
Since everyone here seems to always make these allusions.
