Medicine Buddha

The reason of this post is to understand better the aspect of healing from the buddhist tradition point of view in association with reiki.

The medicine buddha is an aspect of the historical buddha Shakyamuni, and therefore a symbol. As we all know we use symbols on reiki for the purpose of healing, is there in fact a possibility of enhancing our healing process channeling this aspect of energy?. Reki symbols have different qualities. Perhaps this symbols could also share, some new possibilities. Perhaps some buddhas could also help in the healing process?.

Faith is a powerful energy, and only a sith deals in absolutes.

  • New Age practices insist that imagination is the key to shaping ALL our realities.

Hypnosis when used positively, merely places new programming protocols over old ones.

  • Wow!  So subtle. jaja

  • Are there other symbols in tibetan buddhist traditions linked to reiki worth to explore?

Ive heard of the story of the buddha healing a guy with his hands, a guy who later tried to kill him...
  • Rituals are specifically designed for those who like role playing.

The role play of "healer" is a significant psychological and spiritual barrier that few people can transcend.
  • Then what are you? Not a healer or a teacher?

Essentialy whenever a reiki session is over, is recomendable to forget about it and be a normal human being. The thing would be that in the moment of healing, even ourselves, why not to look real tools of healing, other than the symbols given. Some use mudras before, and whenever i start praying, the energy gets more powerfull. Of course we dont heal is god, the one WHO heals us.

Do meditating frogs engage in role play or do spiritual beings aspire to be frogs?

  • Hence why I tend to avoid even using the symbols in Reiki and focus on just getting myself out of my own way during any session, Reiki or otherwise.
  • The use of symbols could be an unconsciouss action. Sometimes i do the symbols and dont even notice, and they work.
  • The Reiki symbols ARE important. Without them we just remain a "do what thou wilt, I know better" kind of hack that Crowley was.

The Reiki symbols are part of a divine transmission system. A gift from an enlightened being.

  • I was wary of the symbols at first. I even asked Brian and showed my concern that they made me think of Magick or something!!!
  • Maybe this is in a way role playing. People who do Magick are like children. Imitating!
  • They have immeasurable power because they are symbols of pure intention.
  • Osho reveals the limits of his wisdom and the depth of his spiritual conceit.

  • "Ive heard of the story of the buddha healing a guy with his hands, a guy who later tried to kill him..".

Was it Osho? Who else could it be?

  • From early 1988, Osho's discourses focused exclusively on Zen. In late December, he said he no longer wished to be referred to as "Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh", and in February 1989 took the name "Osho Rajneesh", shortened to "Osho" in September. He also requested that all trademarks previously branded with RAJNEESH be rebranded internationally to OSHO. His health continued to weaken. He delivered his last public discourse in April 1989, from then on simply sitting in silence with his followers. Shortly before his death, Osho suggested that one or more audience members at evening meetings (now referred to as the White Robe Brotherhood) were subjecting him to some form of evil magic. A search for the perpetrators was undertaken, but none could be found.

Interesting. The buddha said that the guy who tried to kill him, would find enlightenment being a king in a future life.
  • I got into a short email conversation with christa and she mentioned symbols.....oskr when did you start using them? any more insight from anyone as well.

  • The Reiki symbols are introduced in Level II Reiki. They are actually VERY important for psychic protection and healing. The power to use them properly belongs to the attunement process and "secret" transmissions.

I have no problem sharing my e-mail, James.

"JJ "so you do reiki on yourself everyday...?"

breemaborg "Every day? Especially now that
I am back to doing massage.

The question mark is more to do with my focus in practicing Breema and those
principles are what I work with most readily.

As for Reiki. Yes, I have trained on all levels, but that training occurred
after I had learned Breema, and years before I heard of Brian Stalin. Much of
it seemed redundant (and a bit extra) to what I had already learned with
Breema. I took the courses only because, ever since I began doing massage, and
particularly after I began learning Breema, I kept having people ask me where I
had learned Reiki and what my 'lineage' was from. I had no idea at the time
what they really were talking about. They kept referring to how they could feel
the energy and heat come out of my hands and how just my touch was affecting
them. (In Reiki they call this 'hot hands' and stated that it was when you knew
you were using the symbols correctly). To me, it was just a natural thing to
have happen. I had no concept of 'symbols' and I was too practical minded to
think of it as 'energy' work...since I have always been very hands on anyway. I
never really tried to make it happen, even since I have learned Reiki. Sometimes
my hands would begin to heat up before I realized I was to work on someone, and
then the next thing I knew there would appear before me someone in need of 'the
touch'. I say 'the touch' because when it would happen, I would always be a bit
(as in an observation mode of mind) outside myself when it happened. These
questions dramatically increased after I learned Breema...so I decided to find
out for myself what they were asking about directly.

Is it possible I would get
better at Reiki if I focused more on the symbols? It's possible. I would not
discount the need to always come back to a learning stage of anything we do
    while manifesting here.

My concern about the 'cult' that has occurred around Reiki was also a concern
why the founder of The Breema Center was resistant about documenting Breema. He
too was very aware of the 'cult of personality' and made every attempt to not
be like that. He was also very aware how people have a tendency to put their
ideas over the original teaching and change it into something that it was never
meant to be. ... sort of like Jesus's teachings. This actually occurred with my
original teacher of Reiki. After I learned all the traditional Usui teachings
from him, the next thing I know, I kept getting mailings from him with 'new'
symbols he was channeling from his guides for us to use and enhance our Reiki
skills with. I never tried any of those. It just didn't feel right somehow and
I actually dropped using Reiki for a time after that and focused more on Breema
(and its principle of 'no extra')...until Brian Stalin.

It is interesting to note that my 2nd visit with the specter of 'death' came during one of meditations in the the Reiki Master training class. It was a very different sort of visit than the dream one I had had years earlier. It had all the symbols that I now see as the 'Demeter/Ceres' programming with it. When it finished, I heard a voice tell me there will be one more visit. I joke with myself that it will be when I actually cross over this time. Maybe that is so?

  • As for protection. Even as a child, when all the 'bad' things were happening...I have always felt like I was protected.

As for the 'Demeter/Ceres' programming, tracing that back would be interesting, for I was not raised with any real understanding of the ancient 'myths'....from any culture. They were all just considered 'pagan' and 'heretical' and therefor not of Jesus Christ. What little learning I got of it mostly came from outside the home environment and I had to make a point to seek it out on my own. That usually came from my visits to the library (being there was no internet as we know it now) and later, when I was older, interacting with others involved with such things. Even watching TV, when I was growing up, was discouraged most of the time. We weren't even allowed to go to the movies much...and going to see films like 'Star Wars' was completely out of the question. Even later, when the pendulum pointed me to 'Ceres' I was a bit vague on understanding just what her 'role' in things represented. Am I still clueless? Most likely. Willfully ignorant? Good question...

Interestingly, even though I did go through all the pre-study for baptism and was baptized SDA in my teens, I later felt that I was still too young to have done so. I do not consider myself to be a SDA, though I do respect my mother's wish to be one. I still also do not consider myself a 'Christian' of any particular religion....nor a follower of any particular faith at all really. For a time I even looked into other religions, even pagan ones...some Theosophy based as well as chaos magick ones. With what little I researched, I felt they all were missing something very important. What that was, I could not really put my finger on at the time. Some were downright...ludicrous.

Even so, I have had many people say to me that they 'know' I am a 'real Christian'. A real Christian? This puzzles me. What is that? So, to some I felt might understand me asking of them, I would ask them how they know this and they would tell me it is how I behave. Really? I would never try to say or do anything to convert them or convince them of my 'beliefs.' I always feel I fall short of being Christ like. I am way too critical and temperamental at times and I always seem to have issues with this man we call Jesus and those who are so zealous about him. So, I do not really know why so many think I am 'Christian.'
  • Specter of death? @breemaborg

@OskrZS Much like this, only he was dark haired and he disintegrated at a slower rate, to where you could actually see the process of decaying flesh. He also wore a black robe (no scythe though) and did not collapse, but rather 'faded' into 'blackness' with the robe and his sense of presence intact. I could feel his hand as energy still on my belly even after I could no longer see his face bending over me.

The second time he just was a specter in a black robe with no face showing, but I knew it was the same presence. He also started where we had left off from before, but was at that time just there to show me 'things'.

I had no real fear of this presence. I knew, even in that state, it was not something to be fearful of. The ONLY sense of 'fear' that came up was when he asked me if I was sure I didn't want to accept his offer and looked back and saw him start to re-materialize behind me. I then got a start and turned back, telling him I was sure. That was when I immediately woke.

In the meditation, there was absolutely no fear. It was like I was talking with an old friend.
