@OskrZS ... Perhaps it was. You know what? Nothing is certain here. It's nice to be able to understand that what we don't know. The big three religions seem to be bent on "knowing" through very ridgid belief systems. Yes, they say "faith". Is it really faith we speak of here, when these religions and all other religions that stemmed from them (Mormonism) as quite notorious for being bigotted?
Maybe there's a connection here?
I don't know.
You know what else is a connection? Sigurd, King Arthur and Theseus. Very connected tales all involving a sword in a stone that a young man was destined to find. What does Ancient Greek Mythology have in common with Norse Mythology and British folklore? Why do all these tales have a common theme?
I don't know!
All I'm saying is "I don't know"! Now, Oskr, why does that irate you? Why do you seek to attack me so often? I truly do not like Creationism and fanaticism. I understand in most Latin American countries, including where I was born, being very religious is the norm. Is it a culture shock thing? I grew up in a very secular society, in Canada, in the prairies. I'm not religious, in any sense of the word. I am simply one of those people who doesn't know much of anything because I simply cannot know anything, the universe is too vast to be able to fathom much of anything.
Could I possibly have the temerity to claim that I KNOW for SURE that a diety exists? One certain diety, who has made contact with the speck of dust I live on. I'm a stupid speck of dust within a speck (the world) within yet another speck of dust (the Milky Way). The universe is so vast that we matter little if anything at all.
Yes, I definitely know the secrets of the universe and definitely one spiritual movement on this planet has all the answers. NOT!
Also, we are very different people! We are on totally different spectrae of thought!
And somehow, despite our differences, we managed to be friends. Let's marvel at that, shall we, Oskr?
I'm a degenerate, liberal hippie! I like leather jackets, opera and believe in nothing at all! Happy!? Oh! And I'm a tomboy who hates make-up! Another liberal move! *gasps*
Also, if we want to attack each other here, if you're such a Creationist (that strange American movement), Catholic boy then why do you study Reiki (the devil's tempting you!) and study with a man that's Buddhist (hello, Mr. Huggins, lovely to see you are doing well)!
Buddhism! That's not Roman Catholicism! There's no anti-evolution people there!
Wo wow wow! this is a sometimes rethorical debate forum, right?.. no need to take it on personal, geez. :D
yar my friend and i love you.
but your leftist liberal democrat hippie stand comes to an end when you have to pay for a ticket on a date!
religion is not forced up here where i live, i went to a catholic school, but no one there pushed the religion beyond something we could take freely.
i bet to you the majority of students coming from my school are atheists now, thats because thats the agenda of the liberal commies, something that indeed its being pushed all day long, just watch the media.. attacking the church and christianity, becuase if it were islam, you becaome a islamophobe.
Are you a christianophobe, like bill maher?
As bs said once to me i say to you.. my sincere hope is that you come out of that insanity called liberalism.
Brian is not buddhist he has said clearly he does not limit himself with any belief system, i was kind of doing that beofre i knew him.
Saying i dont know about God as an excuse to remain atheist is just a lame excuse to remain a liberal, as anyone else could say the same without needing to hold that communist side.
What this means is, we can say we dont know about God, throwing the liberal bullcrap aside!
Like refusing to pay for our tickets in a date.
Otherwise thers plenty of evidence tat jesus existed, and was an enlightened teacher, he spoke about god!, if he says God exists im with him, how God is, yet i dont know im here to find that out, too.
Yes, because conspiracy theories and creationism are, in fact, so much better than liberalism.
What's next, flat earth theories?
Also, who says Atheism has anything to do with the agenda of liberal commies? It comes from a very, very long history of disillusionment with institutionalized that religion that can be seen in the European wars of religion that lasted from 1524 until about the end of the 30 years' war in 1648. Then there was a little movement in the 18th century called the Enlightenment, in which many leading philosophers completely abandoned religion. Why? Maybe because, nearly a thousand years, the Roman Catholic Church wielded way too much power?
I mean, they created universities. Hired all the musicians, paid intellectuals, created intellectuals even (Peter Abelard, William Ockham).

See the dichotomy?

There is not a wa against christianity! Its just a conspiracy
The First Catilinarian Conspiracy was a conspiracy theory.
The Second Catilinarian Conspiracy was an actual conspiracy.
