To begin with, the inner child is real. Not literally. Nor physically. But figuratively, metaphorically real. It is--like complexes in general--a psychological or phenomenological reality, and an extraordinarily powerful one at that. Indeed, most mental disorders and destructive behavior patterns are, as Freud first intimated, more or less related to this unconscious part of ourselves. We were all once children, and still have that child dwelling within us. But most adults are quite unaware of this. And this lack of conscious relatedness to our own inner child is precisely where so many behavioral, emotional and relationship difficulties stem from.
Hey, thanks. Two of my friends have such thoughts also. We just need to take care of each other. Suicide would be a satanic act. I don't want to do it. I don't know what would happen, if I killed myself. I don't want another life like this: they say we must repeat the lessons by coming back and living a similar life that we just had, and finish it. Horrible!
Well, certainly when I was a suicidal teenager, one thought that came to my mind was returning with worse karma. When you commit suicide, others suffer quite tremendously and next thing you know, that's your action that led to their pain.
That's on you. Imagine returning with that karma. To the same world. With worse luck. What if you HAVE TO come back and now you're stuck in an even worse, more painful, never-ending fuckfest of pain, destruction and abuse? If you play it safe and just continue to push through things will eventually pan out.
For better or for worse, but they'll eventually pan out.
Life is shit, yeah, and people are shit most of the time. And it's super duper fucking tough, but you have to make through somehow. But if you're feeling like this, not me, not Brian, not anyone here can ever take that away. You'd need help via an actual psychologist or therapist. Although @Brian is absolutely correct. Meditation does wonders, no matter how tough it is.
Back when I was in group therapy that was one of the exercises we did. Obviously, nowhere near as well or comprehensive as you'd be able to i you took @Brian's course, or got a Headspace subscription. I have one and it's pretty good to keep you on track.
