As narrated in the beginning of this Discourse, “Which four? Here, monks, a monk/practitioner lives intensely with awareness and constantly thorough understanding of impermanence, observing body in body, having removed craving and aversion towards the world (of mind and matter); he lives intensely with awareness and constantly thorough understanding of impermanence, observing sensations in sensations, having removed craving and aversion towards the world (of mind and matter); he lives intensely with awareness and constantly thorough understanding of impermanence, observing mind in mind, having removed craving and aversion towards the world (of mind and matter); he lives intensely with awareness and constantly thorough understanding of impermanence, observing mental contents in mental contents, having removed craving and aversion towards the world (of mind and matter).”
The principle of No Force is an expression of harmony with Existence. To be in harmony with Existence is our nature. When we express our true nature, we use no force. All that’s necessary is to let go of assumptions of separation. When we let go of our identification with ourselves as something separate from the rest of Existence, we let go of force.
When two things are separate, they exert force on each other. Force is a relationship between separate entities, an energy that moves something outside of itself. Yet in reality, no two things are separate. Existence is one—one matter, one energy, one Consciousness, one Awareness. The totality of everything that exists and the totality of the interrelationships between everything that exists are included.
So rudely forced; yet there the nightingale. Filled all the desert with inviolable voice. And still she cried, and still the world pursues, “Jug Jug” to dirty ears.
