Da Vinci loved animals. He would buy birds (can't remember what type) in the market only to set them free and led a fully-vegetarian lifestyle.
Then again, he was a weirdo who had a thing for poor little Salai. Pedastry is gross, even if the Ancient Greeks thought it was normative because it was a practise that relayed back to their tribal past. What little boy agrees to have a gross old man... do things like that to him?
