People love meaning, which is why names are often used many times over. Call it the odd penchant humans and other primates have for symbolic thinking, if you will. After all, what's in a name? Sound that we come to interpret as meaning through the odd cognitive process we define as language? Not all species, genus or whatever think in such a manner, for many sound is just sound, and the wave lengths we perceive as sound aren't necessarily perceived in the same manner or perceived in any manner at all.
