  • We were in a neighboring community yesterday and saw a family...the likes of which we usually see elsewhere. They would have fit nicely into the pictures you see from the Walmart population you see on the internet.

I made the comment they must be visiting from the likes Stockton. My husband said more likely Paso Robles...

I was working on the Amtrak train and training a new LSA. We served a guy
that looked like an actor from a 70's sitcom, but for the life of me, I
couldn't recall the show or the actor's name. He bought a bagel and a
bottle of water... and paid cash. I kept a straight face and treated him
    like any other...

After he left, I asked the new hire if my impression was correct, and he told me he kept thinking the same
thing...but couldn't remember his name either.

After a bit, the new hire said, 'I got to know.'...and took off to the car we saw the passenger walk towards.

When the new hire came back he said, 'Yep, it's him all right.' I replied,
'Okay....who is he then?' The new hire then told me that he went up and
asked if the guy was the actor from the TV show that he looked like he
might be from...and the guy replied, 'Yep, that's me...."

I hung my head and laughed...and laughed.

It was appropriate though, being the guy was actually from a comedy show
called, 'Barney Miller.' We later figured out the actor was Steve
Landesberg and he was on his way to do a show in Sacramento.

    ....

Ahhhh...I just looked him up on IMDb and see that he died in 2010. I think this happened the year before...
