The problem is much bigger and you've said this yourself before, @Brian.
It's people, just people, since extremist cults (such as the I.S.I.S. and I can assure you mos Muslim pelple under their rule are very unhappy) that inflict violence upon other and the world have existed all throughout history, through all types of religious institutions and even not through them. Just look at Charles Manson. Look at Boleslaw the Brave. And sometimes, just sometimes, "God's will" is used as an excuse and front for other very deep-seeded issues. Such as megalomania. Such as a criminal tendency.
