      Peter, we've been stuck here for thousands of lives. And when we die, we're still stuck in the illusion. To get OUT we have to discipline ourselves for many lives and give up everything.
      Do you really think we meet God when we die? We haven't had contact with any remote aspect of God for millions of years.

      Of course this 71-year-old Father did not meet God. Who knows what he saw!

      Yes, I am sure he did not meet God, the boss. I thought it amusing to think of him as frustrated after decades of chastity and so he had a female guide. I rather expect we meet our spiritual 'parole officers' as we are all serious criminals here.

      Ahahaha frustrated after many years of chastity? Why would he feel sexually frustrated, he described "Her" as a motherly figure. Are you suggesting an Oedipus Complex?
      Also, what if he's not sexually interested in women?

      The fundamental difference between Buddhism and other religions is that Buddhism has no God or gods before whom people bow down in return for some peace of mind. The spirit enmeshed in the Buddha's teachings refuses to offer a god in exchange for freedom from anxiety. Instead, freedom from anxiety can only be found at that point where the Self settles naturally upon itself.

      In Magickal workings, the greatest rebellion or expression of hubris is to change one's own gender. To attempt to change God's gender to female is quite compatible with the Gnostic concept of Sophia being superior to God. Roman Catholicism was always swayed by Gnostic heresy and may have even been founded upon it.

      In Native American lore, fox animal symbolism deals with two interpretations. One perspective (Northern tribes) observes the fox as a wise and noble messenger. The other (Plains tribes) views the fox as a trickster playing pranks, or worse - luring one to demise.

      LunaWHDavies7 - what I was saying about the priest was in jest and not to be taken to seriously. 

      I had not heard of Oedipus Complex before but I do know that Chimpanzees do that sort of recreational pursuit. It is not to my taste thankfully. I can't speak for my past lives, all alleged of course.

      From what I have found out about NDEs people will see what comforts them most.

      Brian - In a previous post you said "we went to the moon but the moon wasn't there". Are you at liberty to say what the problem with the moon is? I suspect it has a holographic surface and is artificial. It may be that when they went they passed through the holographic surface and went beneath it?

      While the suttas criticize notions of an eternal, unchanging Self, they see an enlightened being as one whose changing, empirical self is highly developed. One with "great self" has a mind which is not at the mercy of outside stimuli or its own moods, but is imbued with self-control, and self-contained. The mind of such a one is without boundaries, not limited by attachment or "I-identification." One can transform one's self from an "insignificant self" into a "great self" through practices such as mettā and mindfulness. The suttas portray one disciple who has developed his mind through loving-kindness saying: "Formerly this mind of mine was limited, but now my mind is immeasurable."

      Gnostics INSIST that there is a man behind EVERY curtain. There simply isn't, but it doesn't stop people attempting to be that man or uncover that man. This is the basis of Luicferian Consciousness. It is merely chasing one's own tail.
