Deprogramming For Dummies

edited December 2016 in General
I think, BS, it would be good to post a list of ways to do de-programming in one place, if you don't mind. Thanks.  I don't know if you have already done that somewhere else. I did the de-programming pic in photoshop :)

  • This is a good idea, PeterDuffy. I hope this clarifies the topic even more.
  • Thanks, I hope so too Leftius.

= have YOU noticed that westerners write from left to right, jewish&arabyans write from right to left ... & japanese's write ... vertikally, from above to bellow ?

  • Peter, BS is not going to comply...
  • Why not, paulojose?
  • So, be ready to have a book that on every page says: "what's so difficult about deprogramming?"
  • LUNA - "yaeh,so ?" = exactly.
"?gnimmargorped touba tluciffid os s'tahw" makes no sense, ain't it ?

    image
    = this one's in chinese... &, no - i don' t speak chinese ...
    - my joke about types of writing was a lil' ... non-sense, ain' t it ?

anyway, an image values more than a thousand words

  • Simply free the mind from ALL concepts - especially the concept of deprogramming. Nothing will get done if the all seeing "I" is in the way. If the mind is limited, it will always assume that a Gnostic super-man is its final destination.

  • The first goal is mind expansion and the second is Zen Mastery.
  • @Brian
Freeing the mind from all concepts is quite a difficult task.

Is meditation the best technique for this?

What is even sadder is when one knew nothing at some point and then later became quite biased about a great many things.
  • VISITING TEACHER

When Chan Master Deshan (Te-shan, 782-865) arrived at Guishan monastery, he carried his bundle with him into the teaching hall, where he crossed from east to west and then from west to east. He looked around at all the monks assembled and said, “There’s nothing here, simply no one at all.” Then he went out.
  • The Piano Sonata No. 16 in C major, K. 545, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was described by Mozart himself in his own thematic catalogue as "for beginners", and it is sometimes known by the nickname Sonata facile or Sonata semplice.

  • Peter and Leftius, see?...BS follows patterns like all of us, his comunication is to a small degree predictable. Deprogramming is also a complex matter, there are no simple ways of doing it and of explaining it. I doubt that it can be done while we live in cities and have a normal life. The "noise" around us in cities makes it difficult, there are constant constraints of time and our attention is constantly being drawn to a myriad of comunication stimulation. As we can´t become recluses the matter is complicated to achieve. Perhaps BS has another opinion.
  • paulojose Indeed life today makes it very hard to be able to have the time and relax into meditation. No doubt that is not by accident. I may have the chance for some big changes next year and may even be able to travel to India and farther East. Would be a massive change to my life if I can handle it.
  • Thanks BS.

You have also said no coffee and no sugar. I've stopped coffee except maybe one cup per week, sugar not nearly so easy. Sugar does affect the mind.
  • Somebody said no coffee? WHAT!?
    When? Why? Caffeine!??
I NEED THAT TO SURVIVE at this point.

So little sleep, so little time.
  • If it's caffeine, then no Orange Pekoe, Earl Grey, Chai (all black teas contain cafeine... haha!), NO green teas (sencha, jasmine, the whole spiel), no Oolong tea, and no white tea, no pu'erh and no yellow tea.

Buzzkill! That's no way to live!!!

Peppermint, Rooibos, chamomile and actually most teas popular in Latin America contain no caffeine. Hierba luisa, manzanilla (chamomille) and horchata contain no caffeine but boldo and mate teas do.

But who the Hell likes chamomille tea!?
  • Mademoisele LUNA , look - "somebody said ...?"
HERE 's how it goes : my best friend once roasted me like this : " Yo, you buddy, whether i'll have a baby - i'm gonna hire you as a nanny & allow you to "teach-him/her-facts-of-life" = everything you 'd think is your life-experience... &, when he/she turns around 5-6 years old, when a child begins to develop discernment & stuff, i'll take him/her in my arms & i'll explain  : " have you hear what "mr. uncle" told you all these past years? well, whatever you didn' t already forget, just - in life, you do EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what he tryed to teach you ... &, everything 's gonna be alright... ok?" = NOW, this is a roast !...
= therefore, "somebody said" = SO WHAT ??!!!?

    image
  • ...by the way, coffee goes with a bit of rum ... ain' t ?
  • PETERDUFFY - YOU can handle it, don' t worry ...

    image
= the coincidence is ... i REALLY AM HAVING a cup of coffee with a ciggar, RIGHT NOW.
don't try htis at home - make it at YOUR friend's home... = ha,ha ?

Patterns are seen on protection devices mainly to keep the naked truth off from pervertion?

That would be a gatekeeper or a dharma protector.
