Superstition is a funny thing, especially in the hands of those who are blind. Not saying I'm not blind too. But when you don't realize how grave the dangers involved with a little dopamine-releasing "pass-time" are, you're bound to really fuck things up for yourself and everyone around you.
Superstition and a certain line of "light-bearing mysticism" that is nothing more than trite comforting words have always hidden people from what they fear most.
People use all kind of things to protect themselves from the scary world out there and from things that may hurt them. And then they just wind up hurting themselves.
