Hello, Tom.
I'm just wondering if you prefer to head for sunnier climes for your holidays/breaks or, like me, do you prefer the charm and convenience - no airport hassles, currency changing etc. - of a "staycation"?
The reason I wonder is that, this year, I've decided to stay in the UK (support our own economy, and all that), and have booked a few days in York and Chester as my own break - hope you approve.
Whatever you are doing, sir, I hope you have a marvelous summer!
As always, my thanks.
John

Dear John,
I don't do holidays. I am often invited abroad but aerodromes are hell: worse, they are the seventh lower level of hell. Malabolge is the word. So hardly any travel nowadays. I can endure trains, but only just. Anyway, I am already in paradise. Haven't you heard? I have a pet lamb, Larry, and a lurcher called Poppy. And above all, a wonderful wife. So who in his right mind would swop Paradise for Hell? Lucifer? OK, Paradise Lost is a great poem but I'll leave hell to the devil. And while we are on the subject of the Devil, did I ever tell you of the time....On the other hand perhaps not, you wouldn't believe it anyway.
All the best from Tom.
